IED's, the road side bombs in Iraq and Afghanistan kill more soldiers than anything else and it doesn't seem like we'll be able beat them anytime soon. It is amazing that such a low tech weapon basically created the casualties that eroded American support for the war. Perhaps you could argue that the U.S. got beat by some cheap road side bombs.
